CMOS Imagers

DALSA serves a wide variety of applications in professional, industrial, scientific, and medical imaging with both CCD and CMOS imagers. DALSA founder Dr. Savvas Chamberlain was a pioneer in developing both technologies.

DALSA believes the application should determine the technology, and together with you we can determine which image sensor technology has the most advantages for your application. Two applications for which our advanced CMOS technologies are well-suited are large format high performance X-Ray and industrial imaging requiring high speed global shutter.

Large Format High Performance X-Ray Panels

DALSA has world-leading technology in large format CMOS imagers for high performance X-Ray and CT applications. When size matters, DALSA delivers with wafer-scale devices and proprietary butting techniques to assemble even larger arrays. We offer a variety of scintillator and fiber optic options.

  • individual tiles up to 200 mm wafer scale sizes
  • buttable sensor design allows tiling to larger format
  • leading detectivity at low X-Ray dose and high spatial frequencies
  • real-time on-chip dose sensing during exposure
  • different scintillator option
  • fiber optic bonding
  • pixel sizes from 20 µm to 200 µm with high linear electron storage capacity
  • integrated 12 bit A/D conversion
  • high speed data throughput supporting real-time imaging
  • greater than 72 dB dynamic range

High Speed Global Shutter

DALSA also offers leading CMOS technologies for visible light applications in industrial, automotive and other high frame rate applications. Our advanced designs provide true global (non-rolling) shuttering with imaging performance that meets and exceeds traditional ILT CCDs. Our own CMOS imagers power highly successful DALSA machine vision cameras such as the Falcon 4M60 and 1.4M100 and the Genie HM series.

  • imaging performance that meets and exceeds traditional ILT CCD sensors
  • integrated global shutter allowing external trigger and integration times from microseconds to seconds
  • frame rates from 1 fps to 1000 fps
  • pixel sizes from 3 µm to 7.4 µm
  • low dark current
  • integrated 8/9/10 bit A/D conversion
  • monochrome and colour
  • high speed LVDS interfaces
  • fully digital sensor control
  • single or multi-tap operation
  • RGB available
  • low dark current
  • high QE, high fill factor
  • integrated anti-blooming
  • greather than 58 dB dynamic range
