DALSA's Vision Appliances are multi camera embedded machine vision solutions that have been designed to satisfy your current and future inspection needs. They provide the ease-of-use, performance and flexibility required to meet the diverse requirements of industrial applications, while accommodating the needs and experience of end users.
The VA15 defines a new standard for entry level machine vision
solutions. This low-cost, full-featured product, equipped with CCD
sensor, combines performance, ease-of-use and flexible integration
capabilities to tackle a broad range of industrial applications.
Unlike its traditional smart camera counterparts, the VA15 incorporates the “smarts” inside the camera controller, as opposed to the camera head. This has the dual benefit of easier integration, since it can be positioned in a chassis alongside other automation controllers, and smaller camera size, thus making it suitable for tight-fit applications.
DALSA’s VA3x Vision Appliance provides automated optical
inspection solutions for applications requiring one or two views of a part.
Designed for easy setup and integration, DALSA Vision Appliances offer
manufacturers a cost-effective and practical means of automating quality control
on the factory floor.
The VA3x is fully equipped with directly accessible industrial grade inputs and outputs that are wired using removable screw terminal connectors. A visible LED light is coupled to each connection to reflect the active state of the signal. Flexible I/O, combined with choice of camera resolution and software user interface make these vision appliances well suited to tackle a wide range of inspection tasks.
DALSA’s VA4X Vision Appliances are compact machine vision controllers for
multiple camera automated inspection applications. These products have been
designed to offer flexibility, speed and choice of camera to match the performance
needs of end users and system integrators.
Multiple camera inputs provide excellent cost efficiency and easier integration for applications that require simultaneous inspection of different parts or part views. Camera resolution can be easily substituted to match changing application needs.
Each controller is equipped with industrial grade I/O that are broken out to removable screw terminal connectors. Serial communication options include RS-232, USB and Ethernet for connecting into the factory network. All physical connections are located on the rear panel, with status lights available on the front.
DALSA’s VA5X Vision Appliances are compact machine vision controllers for
automated optical inspections that use line scan camera technology. These
products have been designed for applications requiring cylindrical unwrapping
of parts or large format imaging of moving surfaces.
Multiple camera inputs provide cost efficiency and easier integration for applications that need to perform simultaneous inspection on more than one part or process. The VA5X products support a range of camera resolutions from 1024 to 8096 pixels and provide synchronization timing between the cameras and the moving part or surface.
Communication options include standard serial and Ethernet interfaces for communicating with complementary devices or connecting into the factory network.
The IPD VA61 is a compact vision controller that interfaces with DALSA gigabit Ethernet
cameras and 3rd party equipment to provide industrial quality control solutions.
Compatible with the full range of DALSA Genie and Spyder3 cameras, the IPD VA61
offers a cost-effective and expandable performance platform for a multitude of
inspection tasks.
A benefit of gigabit Ethernet cameras is that they can be positioned up to 100 meters from the controller. This allows easier installation and provides better protection of costly control components in harsh environments. Another benefit is camera expandability. The IPD VA61 camera ports can be configured to interface up to 4 or 8 cameras through Ethernet switches to provide extremely cost effective solutions.
The DCI-100 provides an interface between DALSA Genie GigE cameras and
industrial power, triggers and I/O. The module is used for remote or expandable
configurations using the VA61 Vision Appliance.
In remote configurations, the DCI-100 conditions industrial 24V power and triggers to the camera. If required, the camera outputs a strobe signal back to the DCI-100 for controlling lights. Image data from the camera is sent directly back to the VA61 via the GigE Ethernet link. One DCI-100 can interface up to two cameras.
GEVA is a high-performance industrial controller that offers excellent cost savings for multi-camera vision applications, such as final inspection of large assemblies.
As the name implies, GEVA provides expandable Gigabit Ethernet camera interfaces that significantly drive down system cost.
At the heart of GEVA is a powerful dual core processor, equipped with high-speed memory resources to tackle the most demanding applications. Two dedicated camera ports are provided, each with enough bandwidth to easily support eight 640x480 mono cameras imaging parts at 60 per second. The camera ports are compatible with a wide range of mono or color, area and line scan GigE cameras in a range of resolutions.
Aside from camera interfacing, GEVA provides a number of external interfaces for system integration. It includes dedicated display and USB ports for setup and runtime control, a third Gigabit Ethernet port and a serial port for factory communication, dedicated trigger inputs for inspection timing, dedicated strobe outputs for lighting control and optoisolated I/O for associated equipment interfacing.
Vision solutions on GEVA are setup using DALSA's iNspect or Sherlock application software. For performance migration, applications built on other DALSA equipment with the same camera setup will also run on GEVA.
Available with standard (iNspect) or advanced (Sherlock) application software, our Vision Appliance products have been carefully designed to address the needs of a wide range of industries such as Automotive, Consumer, Electronics, Packaging, Pharamceutical and more.
The standard iNspect software provides capabilities for positioning, identification, verification, measuring and flaw detection. Included with iNspect is iLabel, an application designed specifically for the packaging industry that is used for verifying the placement and quality of labels on packaged goods.
Vision Appliances are an ideal product solution for both end-users and integrators of machine vision.
